By the grace of God, this teaching will be the last teaching on our series the Seventy Weeks of Daniel and the 70th week of Daniel. So, let's get started....
Future Fulfillment of the Abomination of Desolation
Remember in our Part 1 of this teaching, I explained the former fulfillment of the abomination of desolation, but now let's see the future fulfillment.
The ULTIMATE fulfillment of the abomination of desolation is not only the statue, it is the final leader of the religious system—the Satan incarnate man who enters into Jerusalem and says, “I am God.”
This religious leader is described in II Thessalonians and there referred to as the “man of sin.” Notice: “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day [Christ’s Return] shall not come, except there come a falling away first [a prophecy fulfilled in the twentieth century] and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition…Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he IS GOD” (2:3-4).
Verses 9 and 10 explain how this deceiver will sway great numbers to worship him “Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth…” The allure of miracles will seduce the masses into supporting and even worshipping this Beast. (See also Revelation 13:11-14 and 19:20.)
Remember, Antiochus Epiphanes—the civil ruler—as well as the statue (representing the religious system of Babylon in Jerusalem) was a TYPE of the coming Beast, the Antichrist.
The Motivation
Understand. The Vatican has long said they want to proclaim Jerusalem an “international city.” But this seemingly peaceful desire will only be a pretense for taking possession of the city’s holy sites. Realize that this false system will declare, “They are safe with us! You can trust us! We will be the guarantor of Jerusalem—and its three ‘great religions.’ And we are prepared to bring armies to ensure it.”
Longing for “Peace in our time”—reminiscent of British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain’s report upon returning from Berlin just before World War II—this will please and reassure the ears of the majority—and the decision makers!
Understand. For the daily sacrifices to stop they must first be restarted. There must come at least a temporary restoration of these Old Covenant sacrifices in Jerusalem at the Temple Mount under the direction of a re-established priesthood. While a full temple is not needed, something must be rebuilt.
When the Beast erect this statue at the site of the reconstituted daily sacrifices, the abomination will officially “stand in the holy place”!
What is the Abomination of desolation?
Now, I believe this section will explain what the Abomination of Desolation really means. Some people comment on the part one of this topic that is Dome of the Rock in the Temple this Abomination of desolation? That's a NO. And someone also said I should just go straight to the point that I've not explain what abomination of desolation means, but I believe teaching should be precept upon precept and Line upon line, last article was like a foundation. So, in this section, I will be using the the writtings of Evang Neal Frisby to explain what abomination of desolation is.
"Let us describe what Jesus said in Mark 13:14, "But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand!) - Then it gives a warning to flee that the horrible part of the Great Tribulation has started!" - "It's at this time that the mark of the beast begins!
Notice this word that Jesus uses, abomination! A careful search of the Old Testament Scriptures shows that this word is used over and over with idol worship! It appears that when the anti-christ breaks his covenant that he will bring in the image of the beast and set it up in the Temple." (Rev. 13: 14-15) - " The appearance of the false christ with this image would be the abomination of desolation appearing in the Holy place! Jesus said, whosoever readeth let him understand!" "Now, this image concerns also all the worship of the false religions that took on the worship style of the beast, (Rev. 17:5).
''The Abomination of Desolation marks the beginning of the Great Tribulation (Matt. 24:15-21).
He also wrote in another script.....
"Matt. 24:3, Jesus disciples said tell us when these things shall be? . . . And He proceeded to reveal many futuristic secrets to them! In Yr. 15, he spoke of the abominations of desolation! He said when you see it standing where 'it ought' not, let him that readeth understand! It was an idol of the beast in
the Jewish Temple! But this event occurs 42 months after the world leader rises to power!"
In another writing, Neal Frisby wrote....
"Some people want to know what this Scripture means, Mark 13:14 (And Jesus began to reveal it) - "But when ye shall see the 'abomination of desolation, ' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing 'where it ought not, ' (let him that readeth understand), then let them that be in Judea flee to the mountains!" - "This momentous and horrifying event takes place right after the translation and it marks the beginning of The Great Tribulation! . . . It says, standing where 'it ought not. '- What was this! It was the image (idol) of the anti-christ, and it should not be sitting in the temple of the Jews, as it was taking the very place of the Messiah! (Christ)" - "If they do not have the right Temple now, one is coming soon! (Rev. 11:1-2) - Also the false god will set in this very spot claiming that he is above all gods! (II Thess. 2:4) - What an abomination!
So, we understood from all the quotes above that "The appearance of the false Christ with his image would be the abomination of desolation appearing in the Holy place!"
Finally, Why the Abomination of desolation?
I've explained this before in one of my article on the Temple Mount.
Isaiah 14:12-15
[12]How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
[13]For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
[14]I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
[15]Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
The aim of Lucifer, now Satan the Devil, in heaven was to be like the God Most High and set up his own throne higher above the throne of God in the north of heaven. But the All Knowing God was more faster than him and Lucifer was cast down to the earth. So what Satan could not achieve in heaven, The most High God, the Lord Jesus Christ will permit him to achieve on earth just for three and the half years which is the same number of years Jesus Christ spent in ministry. So the Antichrist (which is the Satan incarnate man) will set himself as god in the most Holy place, and that make it an abomination of desolation.
By the grace of God we have come to end of the series Seventy Weeks of Daniel and the 70th week of Daniel. I'm sure through this series the eyes of understanding of many has been enlighten and our knowledge concerning the coming is Christ has increased. Now, what next?
The next series we shall be going into is the Rapture Series, I think for the sake of few I will touch a little on the Bride Revival. And simultaneously we will looking into a prophetic analysis on the middle east and the crises over this region.
